Tyler Thomas

Assistant Winemaker

Tyler Thomas joined our team in August of 2004. After attaining a B.S. in Botany and a M.S. in plant molecular biology from Colorado State University, Tyler and his wife Byranie traveled around the globe before turning a hobby into a career. Tyler worked for a small winery based in the Santa Ynez valley while obtaining his M.S. in Viticulture and Enology from UC Davis and joined HdV shortly after completing his degree.

With an educational background in enology, Tyler brings an understanding of California viticulture and grapevine physiology garnered through his Master thesis work. Additionally, Tyler enriched his cellar and viticulture skills in the cellars and vineyards of New Zealand and Germany.
